Welcome to the Website of the YA and fantasy author Carmen Ferreiro-Esteban
In case you wonder why the characters of all my stories are Spanish, here is a little information about myself that will explain it:
I was born in Galicia (northern Spain), a land of rolling hills and green valleys surrounded by the ocean, thought in medieval times to be ‘Finisterre,’ the place where the world came to an end. In my writing I try to recreate the mysterious beauty of my native land and the tumultuous history of Spain.
Two Moon Princess takes place in a mythical Spain in which the medieval kingdoms of the past are still fighting each other, a world of warrior kings where life is short and death comes swift.
In The King in the Stone, the mountains of northern Spain watch the last free Spaniards take their last stand against the Arabian invaders. A historical event as important in Spanish history as Washington’s crossing of the Delaware is for the United States.
My contemporary romance novel, Immortal Love, is a love letter to my two favorite Spanish poets, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer and Federico García Lorca. It takes place in Bucks County, Pennsylvania where I have lived for the last 20 years. Bécquer eterno is the Spanish version of Immortal Love.
